What a dropping odds alert service does
Pinnacle takes big bets from professional bettors and moves its prices fast when money or news comes in. Most other bookmakers copy the market, but not instantly. A dropping odds service watches Pinnacle (and sometimes other sharp bookmakers) and tells you the moment a price falls, so you can look for a bookmaker that still pays the price from before the move. If you are new to the idea, start with what dropping odds are and whether they are profitable.

What the alert tells you
A drop on its own is not a bet. What matters is the fair price after the bookmaker's margin is removed, and whether your bookmaker still pays more than that. Here is what each service says it shows next to the drop.
| Service | Reference books | Fair price / EV | Extra signals | Bet tracker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BetTheDrop | Pinnacle | Fair price on every alert; EV of your price one tap away | — | Yes, with EV and automatic settlement |
| Pinnacle Odds Dropper | Pinnacle | Current EV in the tracker (Gold) | Opening-line and limit-change alerts (Gold) | Yes; CLV and EV on Gold |
| OddsNotifier | Pinnacle and other sharp books (8 on Elite) | EV+ Scanner on Elite or sold separately | Opening lines and US props feeds | Not mentioned on its homepage |
| BetUnfair | 17 sharp bookmakers, including Pinnacle | De-vigged odds; EV comparison on Pro and Sharp | Limit-change, closed-market and volume-spike alerts (Pro and up) | Yes |
| ValueBetFactory | Pinnacle; Betfair Exchange for the +EV scanner | Current EV and CLV in the tracker | +EV scanner | Yes, with CLV |
| Pinnacle Terminal | Pinnacle | Fair price (4 devig methods), EV and suggested stake | 0–10 move grading, limit tracking, opening lines | Yes, with CLV |
| OddAlerts | Pinnacle (for its dropping odds alerts) | Its own probability model and value bets | Football stats, predictions, pressure index | Yes |
Which one fits you
- You bet in-play: Pinnacle Odds Dropper (Silver and up), Pinnacle Terminal or BetUnfair. BetTheDrop is pre-match only, on purpose: live prices move with the clock, not with information.
- You want many sharp references, not just Pinnacle: BetUnfair (17 books) or OddsNotifier Elite (8).
- You want a scanner that finds the value bet for you: ValueBetFactory's +EV Scanner or OddsNotifier's EV+ Scanner. Alerts and scanners are different tools: alerts vs scanners vs arbitrage.
- You mainly bet football and want stats around the price: OddAlerts.
- You want limit and opening-line signals: Pinnacle Odds Dropper Gold, Pinnacle Terminal or BetUnfair Pro.
- You want simple Telegram alerts with the fair price, public results and a trial with no card: BetTheDrop.
Where BetTheDrop is weaker
To be fair to the others: BetTheDrop has no in-play alerts, no limit-change or opening-line alerts, no player props and a single reference book (Pinnacle). If any of those is central to how you bet, one of the services above will suit you better.
Where BetTheDrop is different
- Public, measured results. Every alert of the last 30 days is valued against Pinnacle's fair closing price and published as expected value, not winnings, with none left out: alert results.
- The fair price on every alert, worked out with the power method rather than the simple proportional split (devig methods).
- One bet per Telegram message, so you can act on it without reading a block of numbers.
- A free 7-day Pro trial with no card, and a free Telegram channel if you just want to watch.
Expected value against the fair closing price, not actual winnings: you can lose money even on +EV bets. How we measure it.
How to test any of them in a week
Ignore the marketing and compare the prices you can actually take. Keep a log for seven days: for every alert, the price at your bookmaker and the fair price when you looked, then the closing price. A service is worth paying for only if the prices you take beat the fair close more often than not. The step-by-step plan is in how to choose an odds alert service, and you can record it all in the free bet tracker template.
